How We Met
Scott
and I meet in the Cal Poly Symphony in fall 2007, but we didn't
get to know each other until later that year. In May, the symphony
participated in the school's Open House. We were one of the last
ensembles to perform so we had a lot of free time back stage. During
this time, Scott and his friends went out the back to play Frisbee.
Scott ended up being hit in the face. When I saw him, I went up to him
and asked if he was okay. He said he was alright and continued the
conversation. I was surprised he wanted to talk to me so long. We talked
for about forty five minutes before it was time to go on stage. I remember
when we finished our performance, I saw Scott looking over to me and
smiling from the cello section. I could tell then that this could be the
start of something.

Our First Date
For the next week I wondered if
Scott really liked me, or if it was my own fabrication. After the next
symphony practice, it seemed likely he did. Then Scott messaged me on Facebook asking me if I wanted to hang out. I was excited and also scared. On one hand, I was being asked out by a nice guy; on the other hand, I didn't know if I wanted to start something with someone I didn't know very well. After talking to some of my friends, I decided I would go out with Scott. We went out on the Sunday during memorial weekend. I had just come back from church and was nervously waiting for my date to arrive. This was my first date after all and I had no idea what to expect. Finally the doorbell rang and Scott was at the door. We then drove to Pismo for lunch. Unfortunately the restaurant we had planned on going to had a line out the door, so we decided to go to the restaurant across the street called Chele's. After lunch we walked along the pier and got to know each other better. Since later that day was a Symphony movie night, I decided I would just spend the time before hand with Scott. We just decided to watch a couple episodes of The Office. Finally it was time for the Symphony movie night! It was a double feature at the drive in of Indiana Jones and Iron Man. About halfway through the first movie, I felt Scott reach for my hand. My heart was beating so fast! At the end of the night, I knew that this would not be my last date with him. After about two weeks of spending time together, we decided to make it Facebook official and become boyfriend and girlfriend!

The Proposal
Fast forward almost four years later... Scott and me met in Sacramento like we do many weekends since it is a
halfway point between us. We started the date at old town Sacramento and sat next to
the river. Then we decided to go to a wine bar before dinner and we each got a glass of wine. Scott want to sit on the lawn in
front of the capitol. It was night at this point and the building was
beautiful under all the lights. I was talking to him about random things
when suddenly Scott started telling me how much he loved me and how
much I meant to him. I didn't think he was going to propose this weekend
cause we talked about going to San Fransisco next weekend and I thought
he would probably do it there. I still didn't get what was going on, so
I said to Scott, let's play hide and go seek cause I thought the lawn
looked like a fun place to play. ( What can I say, I'm just a big kid)
So Scott then said well I have a question for you first and I looked at
him and he was holding the ring and said, will you marry me. I started
to tear up and said yes of course! I didn't realize it at the time but
Scott took me to all the places we have went on dates in Sacramento over
the last few months. It was a wonderful day with my favorite person in
the world. I wouldn't want to be marrying anyone else!
